QUESTION & ANSWER
Q : What does that mean, a ceremony ?
A : A Ceremony is a spiritual work. After an opening prayer addressed to our Creator everyone drink the first time Daime. It may take longer time for the first effects are noticeable. We sing spiritual songs among Portuguese musical accompaniment. In the second part of the evening drinking Daime is optional. You can specify yourself whether you drink and how much you want to drink. The lights except the candles go then off. This is the time for concentration, your inner journey. In each ceremony we work with an intention on which we meditate at the moment of inner silence. We're not talking nor making noises. That disrupts your own process, takes you out of your concentration and is a nuisance to others. Gradually, songs are sung and there is plenty of space for musical improvisation. In the third part of the evening the light is back. To drink Daime is again an option, and we continue the songs. By the end of the ceremony, there is always an opportunity to share something with the entire group. After the final prayer the ceremony is finished and you can extensively exchange experiences with each other.
Q : What is Daime ?
A : Daime is considered in the Amazon region for centuries and longer by Indian tribes as a Holy Drink and literally means: ‘Give me’. Give me Strength, Love, Joy, Truth, Honesty, Justice, Confidence and Well-being. Daime is called a plant teacher, because it allows you to know yourself at all levels. It is made from a liana and leaves. The liana is called Jagube or King and has the shape of a DNA helix hence perhaps the name ‘Plant of the Soul’. The leaves come from the Chacruna plant or Queen and provide the often very particular visual aspects. From over 50,000 plant species in the Amazon region specifically this combination gives this effect, which in itself may already be called astonishing. How did they discover or received that ? It is an entheogenic substance, which literally means : ‘From the God within You’. It allows you to gain deep insights into the nature of Reality, the Spiritual Dimensions, Healing and above all Yourself. Know Yourself ! It contains DMT.
Q : What is DMT ?
A : DMT stands for dimethyltriptamine. It is a psychoactive substance which is also produced in the pineal gland and released in dreams, mystical experiences, clairvoyant observations and birth and death processes. The pineal gland, also known as the ‘Seat of the Soul’, is located exactly in the middle of our skull. It is considered the epicentre of Enlightenment. For many people, the pineal gland is not very active and sometimes calcified. Daime opens via the pineal gland, the gateway to cosmic consciousness and clairvoyance; it opens the third eye.
Q : Is a ceremony not a kind of scary cult ?
A : It may be that the Daime rinse both your gut and brain of incrustations, dogmas and beliefs, making you feel more Joy, Love and Freedom in your Life. If this seems scary, it is perhaps nothing for you. Many people have had bad experiences with regard to the church or religion, from guilt and shame, to abuse and oppression, prohibitions and dogmas. During ceremonies, there are a few simple rules of conduct to respect for an optimum progress, but no dogmas. Discover your Truth, your Freedom and your Love - or your Resistance. Many people have thrown out the baby with the bathwater by bad experiences in the past, making them internally cut from spirituality and the divine. If this is brought to awakening again by direct experience, this can lead to major positive changes in your life.
Q : Singing in Portuguese is too hard for me. Is it obliged ?
A : You don’t have to. No one expects you just sing along. The group sings all together. There are booklets with texts, including many translations. The songs just have a specific function, which will gradually become clear. The music functions as a kind of anchor on which you can hold, or as a compass on which you can navigate, if you have a difficult time.
Q : Can we smoke during ceremonies ?
A : No. That is impossible and therefore not negotiable. Each participant signs a form that he agrees with all the house rules for the proper conduct of the ceremony. After the ceremony, you are free to smoke outside.
Q : Are there any other house rules where you draw on ?
A : Yes. Apart from the interdiction to smoke, you oblige yourself, after you drunk the first glass of Daime, to stay until the end of the ceremony in the ceremony space on your chair or mat. Since the work takes place there. Once someone leaves the room (except of course for going to the toilet) it disrupts the course of the ceremony, because we can not see how you're doing and where you are. If, for some reason, you don’t like it any more, you can just lie down on a mat and sleep or doze, until the end of the ceremony, in the ceremony room. Shouting or yelling demonstrates disrespect and will not be tolerated ! The early exit of the building is not allowed. We are not responsible if you make unexpected lumps, even if it has in the meanwhile nothing to do any more with the Daime. Of course, we ask everyone to turn off cell phones and to follow all the instructions of those who lead the ceremony and of those who assist.
Q : Where does the Daime come from ?
A : The Daime drunk is of high quality and is ritually prepared during special ceremonies in Brazil. Thereby continuously spiritual hymns are sung and prayers recited.
Q : Can I just go home a ceremony ?
A : Yes. After some time the effects take off naturally. After a ceremony there is plenty of food and drink. You can then quietly chat and exchange experiences, until you notice that the Daime has finished his effects. If, in an exceptional case anyone still doesn’t feel able to go home, we will find a solution.
Q : Is Daime addictive ?
A : No, Daime is definitely not addictive, neither physically nor mentally. Therefore, the taste of Daime is too intensive. There are no withdrawal symptoms too. What most people may experience as 'addictive' is the loving atmosphere and openness that you can have with each other, and the often beautiful songs and music. Daime touches the heart. The love frequency can be pleasantly addictive, especially when you can begin to feel it in your daily life.
Q : I hear you're sick of Daime and you have to vomit. Isn’t that disgusting ?
A : It may indeed be that you feel nauseous or have to vomit. Hence, there are always enough buckets. But you can also experience many ceremonies without ever vomiting. Many people associate vomiting with experiences of drunkenness or illnesses. Daime on the other hand you drink on an almost empty stomach. The stomach content is then cleaner. The larger the inner resistance you feel, the more likely that the Daime asks you to ‘throw up’. Then it becomes a ‘give up’ of resistance and blockades, which is specifically designed to help you.
Q : Can you do something when you feel nauseous ?
A : Yes. Breath well often helps you going through. It may also be that you have firmly put yourself in certain diseases or nauseating thoughts. By becoming aware of these thoughts, you can change them often. The relief can be quickly felt. If not : let them go and feel the difference. What a relief! After drinking the Daime you get in touch with your higher self, your higher consciousness, your cosmic intelligence. Many people experience drinking Daime as healing on all levels. It may be that you had already problems with your bowels and that you get an enema while drinking. You can then simply continue with the ceremony and have a wonderful evening.
Q : Are there risks associated with drinking Daime ?
A : Positive intentions protect us a lot from negative experiences. But people can always and everywhere have a physical problem, just as when driving a car or while being at a concert. It may be that someone has it very difficult during the ceremony and temporary needs assistance. Sometimes someone has elevated heartbeat or a salt shortage. That can be remedied immediately. Sometimes a person has an intense reliving of painful or traumatic events, but this has usually a healing function, even if it is temporarily associated with for instance intense sadness. It is best not to drink Daime alone, but only in a ceremony accompanied by an expert who want to return to our common Source of Pure Love and Light. Daime is not a toy but a Sacrament. People who regularly drink Daime will generally undergo major positive changes : more Joy, more Transparency, Healthier choices, more Inner Force, more Gratitude and more Love.
Q : Can anyone drink Daime ?
A : In principle yes, but we have a minimum age limit of 18 years, with no upper limit. ‘Daime is for everybody, but it's not everybody's cup of tea’. Someone who takes antidepressants has to detox first. And someone who knows he can not or will not follow the house rules, is asked not to sign up. We wish anyone who wants to live a ceremony with respect, one of the best nights of their lives.
Q : I do not feel well. Can I participate in the ceremony ?
A : It is not unusual for someone to become concerned in advance about the good outcome. This can manifest itself in the form of for instance abdominal pain, stomach pain or headaches. Unconsciously you ‘sabotage’ your participation in the ceremony, as people may have this even when they have an appointment at the dentist or therapist. Once you're aware of this, often some of the tension falls away. Someone who is ill in bed with fever will probably not wonder whether he should take part in the ceremony. He’s going to stay in bed.
Q : Can I join if I am pregnant or give breastfeeding ?
A : Yes, in principle you can participate if you are pregnant or give breastfeeding. We encourage you to announce your pregnancy in advance so that you get a lower dose. If you give breastfeeding, you can just join. Many pregnant women have very positive experiences with ceremonies and perfectly healthy children.
Q : I heard that great music is made and that I can sing. Can I go out of my roof and dance along ?
A : Singing along is fine. That may, of course, as far as you can. What concerns ‘hitting the roof’ : think about it the whole time that you shall not form a disturbing factor in the group. Once someone's behaviour is perceived by the supervisors as a nuisance, the person will be asked to calm. Sometimes, especially towards the end of the ceremony, it still could happen that the feet are off the floor, as a sort of collective expression of Joy and / or Euphoria. But even then, it is necessary to take into account those that are not yet returned from their internal journey. Only at the very last song of the evening everyone can collectively go out of the roof while dancing. This immediately provides a good grounding.
Q : I would like to subscribe more people for the ceremony. Is this possible through me ?
A : You can subscribe several people at the same time, as long as we get from each participant the name, the address, the national identification number, the phone number and email address. Please note that they need to unsubscribe in time if they do not come, otherwise the entry fee will be charged. Inform them also in advance about the house rules.
Q : Is it possible to arrange a private session ?
A : Under certain conditions it is possible to arrange a private session, alone or with their own group of friends / acquaintances. Of course there are significant associated charges.
